"Pietradonice is Casanova di Neri's entry into the Super Tuscan category. The name means "Stone of Onyx" and, indeed, the Pietradonice vineyard is in a former quarry for onyx, a vivid mineral used for jewelry and ornaments. The vineyard, located in the southeastern part of the commune of Montalcino, is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon rather than Sangiovese and demonstrates the high quality Neri and Montalcino are able to produce in this international grape variety." —winemaker

"Blackcurrants, hints of chocolate and black licorice with some violet undertones. Full-bodied with linear, tight tannins that give the wine tension and structure. Needs time to open and soften. Best after 2025." —James Suckling
