"A purist, reflecting the clay and limestone soil it´s grown on. Local pip fruit, green clementine, hyssop, and mint. Aged in used wooden barrels. Mouth-watering and salty, just like the primordial ocean that shaped our soils." —winemaker

"The 2019 Welschriesling Ried Ottenberg Veitlhansl opens with intense, concentrated and tangy fruit on the nose, which also reflects the loamy lime sandstone as well as the 500-liter barrels in which the wine was aged for two years. Full-bodied and mouth-fillingly rich, this is a pure and textural Welschriesling with yeasty notes and fine but palatable tannins. The acidity is vivacious but fine and leads to a long, intense, structured and persistently salty finish. This is, again, an impressive "Wösch" with a tight but fruity finish. 12% stated alcohol. Glass stopper. Tasted in December 2021." —Wine Advocate
