"This is an exquisite wine with an intense ruby red color with garnet tones.  The nose reminds one of jam and red fruits with a touch of oak.  The palate is fleshy with a mineral finish that is long lasting.  Not as heavy as a California Cabernet, but fuller and richer than a Pinot Noir.  Superbly intense!" —winemaker

"Intense, dark cherry-red colour with purple edges. High layer. Clean and bright. Dense tear that lightly dyes the glass. On the nose it is powerful, very intense and fresh. Initially, the elegant notes of Crianza appear, toasted and balsamic. When opened, the black fruit and a touch of very ripe red fruit is exposed, almost jam, at some point liquorice with a spicy and creamy lactic. Fine floral tobacco touches. "DO Arribes is a little-known appellation located on the extreme western edge of Spain along its border with Portugal. Here, Alvar de Dios 36 small parcels of vines totaling 5 hectares, most of which are used to create Camino de los Arrieros. A blend of Rufete, Juan García, Trincadeira Preta, Merenzao, and some other stray varieties mixed in the vineyards all planted on sandy red slate soils. Harvested by hand, fermented whole cluster by indigenous yeasts in 1000L French oak vats with pigeage by foot. Aged for 6 months in a combination of 1000L and 500L French oak barrels." —importer
