Huyghe Delirium Nocturnum

Size: 25.4oz

"Dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate on the nose. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are also present. Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet." —brewer

"Appearance: Hazy deep ruby red with a tan creamy, patchy lace — one gentle swirl and it creams up again.

"Smell: Medicinal/light solvent, tart apple, faint caramel, raw sugar, alcohol (swirl and give it a good whiff) and earthy / yeast aromas.

"Taste: Kinda smooth and very creamy on the palate, light pear texture. Medium-bodied. Medicinal, dominant apple (slightly tart), herbal, yeast...then the malts settle in on the palate with a smooth chocolate / caramel flavour that turns dry soon after. No predominant hop bitterness. Vague spices. Warming spicy alcohol character hits the head after a few decent sips.

"Notes: Welcome to Belgian beers! Lovely combination of malts and complex tartness. A surprise lurks around every taste bud with this beer. Amazing how such a beer can go from sweet to mildly tart to dry." —BeerAdvocate Magazine

Gouden Carolus Cuvee van de Keizer Blue Size: 25.4oz

25975
"Every year on the 24th of February, we celebrate the birth of Charles Quint. Therefore we brew a special beer in limited edition called Cuvée van de Keizer ('Grand Cru of the Emperor'). This exceptional beer is a special version of the Gouden Carolus Classic, with an enriched taste palate and mysterious aromas added. The caramelised malts and its 11% alc. vol. give the Cuvée van de Keizer the warm roundness of wine together with the refreshing taste of beer. It is imperially crowned with a cork so it can be preserved for a long period of time at a constant cellar temperature of 54 °F. An imperial beer to cherish and enjoy in moderation." —brewer

Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel Ale Size: 25.4oz

30123
"Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel is a rich and intense dark Belgian ale. It is brewed with a subtle blend of specialty malts, which give the ale an extremely dark color and a chewy, malty complex character. The quadrupel combines a clean dryness with a warm full bodied mouth feel and essences of fruit. Secondary fermentation in the bottle creates a living ale that can be aged and will have an evolution of taste profiles over time." —brewer

Ommegang Three Philosophers Quadrupel Ale Size: 25.4oz

20434
"Three Philosophers is a unique blend of a Belgian-style dark ale and Liefmans Kriek, an authentic cherry ale from Belgium. Cherry chestnut in color, it's opaque but not cloudy with full carbonation topped by a smooth, tan head. Flavors and aromas of roasted malt, molasses and brown sugar, dark fruits, brandied raisins, and chocolate, Three Philosophers has notable sweetness with low hop bitterness. The mid-palate shows a soft malt center which gives way to a dry, warm, wine-like finish. The complexity of this beer makes it a good candidate for ageing gracefully, as spicy sherry and port notes should intensify." —brewer
